If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly surface material with a sophisticated color palette and unique advantages, look no further than EcoTec Surfaces.

EcoTec Surfaces is the next generation of green building material.  Its patented blend of recycled glass and bio-renewable soybean resin is a unique alternative to traditional acrylic and other solid surfaces. EcoTec Surfaces allows you to make an environmentally conscious and visually striking design that is both earth-friendly and affordable.

EcoTec Surfaces contains a high percentage of recycled glass and bio-renewable materials. Its light weight further reduces the monetary cost and carbon footprint of shipping traditional materials such as acrylic solid surfaces, quartz, granite, or marble.

EcoTec Surfaces contains at least 53% recycled and renewable materials. Its proprietary mixture uses recycled glass, including windshield glass, one of the more difficult glasses to recycle because, due to the coating on the glass, windshield glass cannot be used in recycled consumables. EcoTec Surfaces gives new life to a cast-off resource.

EcoTec Surfaces also utilizes a bio-renewable soybean resin in place of the environmentally-unfriendly petroleum-based resins used in traditional solid surfaces. When combined with the recycled glass, the resulting proprietary mix is earth-friendly, strong, and beautiful: an alternative to traditional solid surfaces that is good for the environment.

  • EcoTec Surfaces is 20-25% lighter than acrylic and polyester solid surfaces, making it not only easier for installers to handle, but also cheaper to ship. Its lighter weight is also ideal for ships and recreational vehicles, installations where every ounce matters.
  • EcoTec Surfaces is fire-, heat-, stain-, and chemical-resistant, making it low maintenance and an excellent choice when safety is a concern — pretty much always.
  • EcoTec Surfaces is easily fabricated and can be thermoformed to fit any installation, no matter the curve or angle required; it comes in an unlimited range of colors, patterns, and designs. No matter your aesthetic needs, you’ll find both beauty and strength in an EcoTec Surfaces installation.
  • EcoTec Surfaces is low maintenance. It requires no sealing or painting, and minor scratches and burns can easily be buffed out without needing to call in a professional for repairs.

EcoTec Surfaces enjoys over 150,000 sq ft of manufacturing space in Central Missouri, so whether you need a small vanity top, or a large scale installation, we’ve got you covered. We manufacture EcoTec Surfaces right here in the USA. We believe in creating American jobs and using American agricultural materials in our product. We’re proud of our local roots, and to honor our hometown, our standard colors are named after streets in St. James, Missouri where our headquarters are located.

We have the color and design to fit your installation!

EcoTec Surfaces is available in a vast array of colors and patterns, including:

  • infinite solid colors
  • variegated, swirled, and veined patterns of small multicolored particulates
  • granite-like patterns of large particulates
  • random large and small particulates in variegated, swirled, and veined patterns that do not repeat

In addition to the vast color options, EcoTec Surfaces can also be printed with your custom images using a dye sublimation process. The heat and vacuum process permanently bonds the image to the pores of the surface, and the surface can then be thermoformed, fabricated, cleaned, and lightly sanded as usual.

No transfer of this Warranty shall extend the coverage period. The Warranty as set forth herein is the only warranty made by FYC for the Installation. No representative dealer, or any other person, is authorized to make any warranty, representation, or promise on behalf of FYC with respect to the Installation. No terms or conditions, other than those stated herein or provided by law, and no understanding, oral or written, in any way purporting to modify this Warranty shall be binding upon FYC unless made in writing and signed by an authorized employee of FYC.

The invalidity of all or a part of any of the provisions of the limited warranty shall not affect or invalidate any other provision of the limited warranty.

Warranty Exceptions

This Warranty does not cover any damage to the Installation caused by or arising out of improperly installed, used, or maintained appliances (including garbage disposals) that are either built into or stored on the Installation.

Warranty Disclaimers

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, FYC MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTIES IN CONNECTION WITH ECOTEC SURFACES, AND ALL CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, AND WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, FYC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY IN EITHER TORT OR CONTRACT FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE INSTALLATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

How to File a Warranty Claim

You may obtain coverage by providing proof of the date of initial purchase. For service under this Warranty, contact the source from which you purchased the Installation or contact FYC in writing, providing your name and address, a description of the nature of the defect or failure, proof of purchase (i.e., the original sales receipt or other documentation acceptable to FYC), and the date of purchase. Labor charges incurred during any installations are not included under this Warranty. You shall reasonably cooperate with FYC and its representatives in their efforts to perform their obligations under this Warranty.

If your claim is covered by this Warranty, as determined by FYC in its sole discretion, FYC will provide, at no cost and with delivery prepaid, the appropriate EcoTec Surfaces materials to repair or replace the failed portion of the Installation. If the original color or style is no longer available, FYC has the right to substitute another EcoTec Surfaces sheet of equal or greater value than the Installation.

Care & Maintenance Guidelines

Due to the unique chemistry of EcoTec Surfaces™ , its resistance to scratches will vary. Additional glass content will decrease the likelihood of scratching and will make the EcoTec Surfaces installation less prone to dulling, staining, and abrasion. It is not necessary to seal EcoTec Surfaces. However, you should avoid using undiluted bleach, strong chemicals, solvents, paint removers, or furniture strippers on it.

Routine cleaning with soap, water, and a sponge or window cleaner and paper towels will remove most dirt and stains.

To disinfect, wipe the surface with a diluted solution of equal parts household bleach and water and always towel dry to remove water spots. Removal procedures for stubborn stains will vary depending on the surface finish. See the following information.

 Matte Finish:

  • Basic Care: Many countertops have a matte finish. For this finish, rub with a damp cloth and use a solid surface cleaner.
  • Scratch Removal: Start with 180-grit sandpaper and a 5” or 6” palm sander. We recommend using SIA 1950 180-grit paper. Follow by using a 280- and a 400-grit paper, feathering as you go. Wipe the surface clean between sanding. Finish by using a grey Scotch-Brite® or similar pad on a palm sander.

 Semi-Gloss Finish:

  • Basic Care: Use a non-abrasive cleanser with diluted bleach, rubbing with a white Scotch-Brite or similar pad. Rinse and towel dry. A non-abrasive polish may be used to enhance the shine.
  • Scratch Removal: Start with 180-grit sandpaper and a 5” or 6” palm sander. We recommend using SIA 1950 180-grit paper. Follow by using a 280- and a 400-grit paper, feathering as you go. Wipe the surface clean between sanding. Finish by using a grey Scotch-Brite or similar pad on a palm sander and then using an 800-grit wet polish pad.

High-Gloss Finish:

  • Basic Care: If the counter has a polished or high-gloss finish, apply a bleaching non-abrasive cleaner with a sponge or use a white polishing compound and rub with a soft cloth.

  • Scratch Removal: Start with 180-grit sandpaper and a 5” or 6” palm sander. We recommend using SIA 1950 180-grit paper. Follow by using a 280- and a 400-grit paper, feathering as you go. Wipe the surface clean between sanding. Use a grey Scotch-Brite or similar pad on a palm sander. Perform a two-step finish using SIA 1500- and 3000-grit wet polish pads. Wipe thoroughly, and finish by polishing with a solid surface polish.

Preventive Care:

  • Use a hot pad or a trivet under heat-producing appliances or hot pots and pans.
  • Never cut directly on the surface of the countertop. Always use a cutting board.
  • Avoid dropping heavy objects on the surface of the countertop
  • Do not allow harsh chemicals (such as acetone) to come into contact with the countertop.

Wash these chemicals off with water immediately if they touch the surface.

  • Avoid sliding hard objects across the countertop to prevent scratches.

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable

Recycled and bio-renewable!

EcoTec Surfaces™ is a truly green product, with at least 53% recycled and renewable content in each sheet.

Durable & Renewable

Resists stains, scratches, common chemicals, heat, and fire!

Stains

Traditional surfaces can be marred by the stains and scratches of daily use, but because EcoTec Surfaces is nonporous, stains can’t penetrate the surface, so most stains can be simply wiped or scrubbed away on EcoTec Surfaces by using water or a gently abrasive cleaner.

Scratches

The recycled glass content makes EcoTec Surfaces sturdier and more scratch-resistant than traditional surfaces. All surfaces eventually become damaged through day-to-day use, but EcoTec Surfaces’ unique structure allows you to repair minor scratches, small chips, and light scorches from cigarettes or hot pots by lightly sanding the surface then cleaning as normal.

Deep gouges or cracks and extreme burns may need the attention of a professional solid surface repairman.

We recommend using a cutting board when using a knife on the surface.

 Chemicals

EcoTec Surfaces is resistant to common chemicals like ammonia, mild acids, and trisodium phosphates. However, nail polish remover, strong acids, and concentrated bleach may cause hazing of the surface. This hazing can be removed by cleaning the area with a wet scratch pad, such as a Scotch-Brite cleaning pad.

Heat and Fire

While EcoTec Surfaces is heat- and fire-resistant, we recommend using a trivet or hot pad when placing hot pots or heat-generating appliances (e.g., electric skillets or electric cooking pots) on the surface. Fire-resistant does not mean fire-proof.

Antibacterial

Resists bacteria, mold, and mildew!

EcoTec Surfaces is a nonporous surface that does not support the growth of bacteria, mold, or mildew, which makes it an invaluable product for healthcare settings, gyms, retirement homes, and your home kitchens and bathrooms.

Lightweight

Lighter weight, lower costs!

EcoTec Surfaces is 20-25% lighter than traditional acrylic and polyester solid surfaces. This not only lowers shipping costs, but makes it ideal for installations where weight is a concern (e.g., ships and RVs).

Invisible Seams

Hidden seams look better and are cleaner!

Seams are an unavoidable part of installing large surfaces such as long countertops, regardless of the material used. With EcoTec Surfaces, however, the seams are invisible or remarkably hard to detect. This is more aesthetically pleasing than a seamed surface, but it also eliminates a place for crumbs, dirt, and bacteria to collect.

No Sealing or Painting Required

Remove the stress of sealing and painting!

Unlike some traditional products, EcoTec Surfaces does not need to be resealed every six months to avoid stains. Because there is no finish coat, there is no need to apply a finish, sand, and reapply, wasting your time, and no need for expensive equipment, paint booths, or drying rooms, wasting your money. Because the majority of stains can be removed with a simple scrub, EcoTec Surfaces allows you to avoid the cost and hassle of regular repainting, sealing, or resurfacing.

More Stable Than Wood

Don’t worry about moisture retention!

Wood surfaces are subject to instability when faced with moisture and heat. Wood grain expands when it absorbs moisture, and even finished wood can dry and crack. EcoTec Surfaces does not absorb moisture the way wood can. Though solid surfaces can slightly expand and contract from extreme temperature changes, it does not crack under that stress.

Thermoformable

Easier to thermoform than traditional acrylic and polyester solid surfaces!

EcoTec Surfaces can be heated until pliable and shaped to fit objects. Once cooled, it retains this shape. Its soy-urethane content makes it easier to thermoform and shape than traditional solid surfaces, cutting labor costs and time.

Wide Variety of Colors & Designs

We have the color and design to fit your installation!

EcoTec Surfaces is available in a vast array of colors and patterns, including:

  • infinite solid colors
  • variegated, swirled, and veined patterns of small multicolored particulates
  • granite-like patterns of large particulates
  • random large and small particulates in variegated, swirled, and veined patterns that do not repeat
